Location: Unit 28, Cargo 2, Museum St, Bristol BS1 6ZA
Schedule: Permanent, Full-time. Day shift – Monday to Friday (Overtime and Weekend availability, Inc. Public Holidays)
Experience:
Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Hospitality: 1 year (required)
Requirements:
Available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays without hesitation, with experience in fast-paced food or drink environments and a solid understanding of the rhythm of great service. Knowledgeable about hygiene and food safety, and committed to upholding high standards at all times. Thrive in a team setting, always supporting the crew and keeping the energy high, even during the busiest shifts. Communicate clearly, remain friendly under pressure, and consistently put customers first. Open to trying new things, stepping into different roles, and eager to learn and grow along the way.
Job Description:
Rotate confidently between roles including bartending, guest relations, food running, tills, and saucing—or jump in wherever needed—while showing a can-do attitude, eagerness to learn, and flexibility to adapt to different roles and tasks throughout your shift. Provide friendly, high-energy customer service that reflects the Gurt Wings vibe, and keep all front-of-house and catering areas spotless, including public seating and service points. Communicate clearly with customers in the queue, managing expectations and updating them on wait times with a smile. Support smooth and efficient service by working closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house team, and follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain our top standards at all times. Work alongside the General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of one of Bristol’s top food spots, assisting with the management of stock levels, budgets, and supplier relationships while actively working to reduce wastage. Maintain exceptional cleanliness and hygiene throughout the restaurant, and lead a fast-paced team during busy service periods to ensure timely, high-quality food delivery.
Oversee food preparation and ensure consistent quality across all dishes, while providing excellent customer service by confidently engaging with customers, promoting specials, and encouraging upsells. Take ownership of online reviews and customer feedback to continually enhance the overall experience. Train staff to maintain strong product knowledge and deliver top-tier service, and be hands-on and flexible—helping with prep, service, drinks, cleaning, or stock runs as needed.
